    RMS Voltage Conversion Calculator

    Easily calculate RMS voltage from peak, peak-to-peak, or average voltage using simple formulas. Ideal for AC circuit analysis and electrical engineering applications. AC circuits employ the RMS (Root Mean Square) voltage measurement for calculating the DC voltage equivalent that provides an equivalent power level to a resistive load. The correct examination and comparison of AC signals requires this measure to be accurate. The RMS Voltage Calculator employs single formulas to transform peak voltage (Vₚ) peak-to-peak voltage (Vₚₚ) and average Voltage (Vₐᵥ) into an RMS voltage output. Peak voltage measurement equals Vₚ / √2, whereas peak-to-peak voltage measurement equals Vₚₚ / (2√2), and average voltage measurement becomes Vₐᵥ × √2. This tool allows electrical engineers and technicians to achieve precise voltage measurement; thus, they can perform advanced circuit design and signal processing and calculate power with accuracy.

    Conversion using the RMS Voltage Calculation Formula

    How to Calculate for Pack voltage to RMS (Root Mean Square) Voltage is:

    VRMS = 1√2 × Vpk = 0.7071 × Vpk

      Where:

    • VRMS = RMS Voltage
    • VP = Peak Voltage (the maximum value in the waveform)

    How to Calculate for Peak-to-peak Voltage(Vpp), the RMS voltage is:

    VRMS = 12√2 × VPP = 0.3536 × VPP

      Where:

    • Vpp = Peak-to-Peak Voltage

    How to Calculate For Average Voltage (Vavg) in a sinusoidal waveform, the RMS voltage is:

    VRMS = π2√2 × Vavg = 1.11 × Vavg

      Where:

    • Vavg = Average Voltage

    Peak Voltage to RMS VoltageVₐₘₛ = Vₚ / √210V / √2 = 7.07V
    Peak-to-Peak Voltage to RMS VoltageVₐₘₛ = Vₚₚ / (2 × √2)20V / (2 × √2) = 7.07V
    Average Voltage to RMS VoltageVₐₘₛ = Vₐᵥ × √210V × √2 = 14.14V
